Music, like a key, opens the doors of the past, of memories, of houses overlooking the Mediterranean and bears witness to the bond with the native land. The Yasemin Ensemble, born from the meeting of the famous violinist Jamal Ouassini, director of the Arab-Andalusian Orchestra of Tangier, with some of the best Genoese artists: Franco Minelli, Alessandra Ravizza, Angela Zapolla, Marika Pellegrini and Salah Namek, owns the “Mediterranean Keys”. In “Mediterranean Keys – Songs of Love and Exile”, the close-knit ensemble transports the audience into the past, into the intimacy of the stories of the women of the Mediterranean to rethink the present. A rich repertoire from the Mare Nostrum that moves between Arab-Andalusian music, Sephardic Jewish music, Arabic song, Ottoman instrumental music and the Greek repertoire of Smyrna.
